Along the Beach

Many a time I've walked down along the beach
Wondering why everything seems so out of reach

Many who have less days ahead then behind wonder what our footprint in life has been. For most. the answer is a small one that'll soon be erased at the water's edge of time.

This song is a celebration of two facts of life: 1. the inevitability of frustration and failure 2. the ready availability of long stretches of beach to clear your head and find new opportunities.

None of the events in the song happened to me. To those not familiar with the maxim: "time and tide wait for no one," well, we can all take comfort in the idea that we are not alone. The sometimes cruel and unusual forces of nature that drive the universe forward take all prisoners.

Special Thanks to Kevin Curtin for recording the cool electric lead track

Many  a time I’ve walked down along the beach

Wondering why everything seemed so out of reach

Time and Tide why don’t they wait

No matter how fast I run I always seem to be late

Cool rushing waters all around my feet

You never know how you might see along the beach

I saw her in the desert with a gorgeous tan

Topless on her roller skates at burning man

Looking for a lover she turned on the heat

I happened to be passing by I wish we didn’t meet

I thought if I bought her a wedding ring she’d stay with me

But she left me for a woman who she’d soon set free

I had a green lit project with Alfonso Curon

They flew me down in a private jet to meet him at his home

We hit some heavy weather and got lost at sea

And I ended up near Tahiti where the manatee breed

By the time I made my way back home no one remembered me

And now I’m just another guy walkin’ on the beach

You never know who you might meet along the beach

Cool rushing water all around my feet

You mever know who you might meet along the beach

Cool rushing water all around my feet

You mever know who you might meet along the beach
